Click “Add New”
Search for “WooCommerce” and then click “Install Now”
Once installed, click “Activate”
It will literally walk you through the next four steps to set up your store.
The final step is to “Create a product”
Once you click the “Create a product” button, you will get directed back to your dashboard.
Fill in your product name and description.
Scroll down and fill in the Product data:
- Simple product works fine
- Choose a Virtual or Downloadable product
- If it is a downloadable product, click “Add File” to upload the PDF
- Set a price
Set a product image or choose to do a gallery of a few images – located on the right hand side.
Next, if you have the Yoast SEO plugin installed, go back and fill in the the focus key word, meta description, and SEO title.
If you do not have this plug in, go search for it and add it. It is free.
Hit “Save” and “Preview” – don’t Publish yet!

Hi Sarah, thank you for writing this blog post, it just gave me that kick that I needed for a long time. I have it all set but I am wondering how are they going to receive the pdf? I mean the program that they buy? How will I automate it? I would appreciate a quick reply if possible as I am in the middle of setting this up.
And thank you so much, it couldn’t have been a simpler way of explaining this geeky stuff 🙂
